I received a call from David asking if I could cover his proposal to Kelly last night. I immediately squealed and said “YES!” I’ve always wanted to shoot one of these. I caught the back end of one accidentally in Washington, DC last year but this, I could be there before they both got there and cover it all! I’ve known Kelly for almost two years now – I will be working with her at a wedding next year as she is a wedding planner, Archway Events – and could NOT be more delighted for both her AND her new fiance David!

The plan was they were both going to Lambs to pick out a Christmas Tree and I was to be hidden somewhere and capture it all! I arrived about 20 minutes before they did, worked with the staff there to be strategically hidden away and they placed an object by the tree that David would recognize as the PLACE to be and that was also a good position for me to see it all happen. Once they arrived, David had a Christmas tree bauble that he had inscribed “Kelly, will you marry me?” and he hung this on a tree while they were walking around. The rest, you can see below!

  1. What a perfect Christmas Present and how great is that that she will get to hang that bauble from their tree every year? Congratulations xx

  2. Best Birthday EVER!!! Thanks for all the sweet comments everyone. David and I are so excited! Time for the wedding planner to plan her own wedding :). Thank you for everything Andrea. So glad you were there.

  3. Yay for Kelly and Dave!!!!!! Thank you so much Andrea, for capturing this beautiful moment. I am so glad I can see the images that go along with the story. It is so special that you were able to save this moment to share with the family. These pictures will be cherished by Kelly and Dave and the rest of the family for years to come. Thank you!!!

  4. Kelly and David,

I’m so happy for the two of you! Kelly, it likes like we may need to buy you a small step stool for future communications…or at least a milk crate.

    Love ya! Uncle Steve
